Kenaston Seniors

Jeanette Holder and Idelle Westman attended the SSAI Convention June 6 and 7, finding the sessions interesting and informative. Several seniors volunteered to oversee the supper held at the Centre for the Kenaston Street Fair held on June 27.

Grade 3 & 4 students (19 students) and Grade 5 & 6 (17 students) did a smashed can craft at the Centre on June 19. On June 20 K-Gr 2 (15 students) created stickers on a visor with senior volunteers helping with the craft.

The community gathered at the Centre on June 14 to bid farewell to Gene and Anna Whitehead.

Jeanette Holder is now a Coordinator for the District. She will be attending the National Pensioners Federation Convention in Regina in September.

The next meeting of the Seniors is Tuesday September 18, 2018 at 3 pm.. Hope to see you there! If you wish to renew your membership, or join the club, please see Bev George. Membership for the year is $50, to be renewed by March 31 of each year.

"Just In Case"

A "Just in Case" seminar was held in Kenaston, presented by Harold Empey. Harold has developed a package of materials to help you organize your important information so those handling your affairs will have easy access to necessary information in the event of your death, serious illness, or loss of mental capacity. The binder has labelled dividers where you can file your will, the names of your executor and Power of Attorney, funeral wishes, contact lists, financial and pension information, insurance policies and other information. This is for people of all ages, not just Seniors. It is especially important if you have children or valuable assets. Kenaston Seniors obtained some extra binders to sell as a fundraiser for the club. A binder with the materials is available for $30.00, if you wish to purchase one for yourself or as a gift for a loved one. Please contact a Senior's Club member to purchase.
